Wedding consultation

If you want to have your destination wedding in Portugal or Azores and you don't know how to start this service is for you. If you've sort out most of the details and vendors for your wedding and need help with some details, discover another vendors; we can set up an hour meeting to help and give all insights and advices you’ll need! We plan a Skype call or a meeting at my office for one hour and half and we can talk about all your doubts, questions, etc!

Wedding Decoration & Styling

We love aesthetic, design and decoration. Decorating weddings is a way of transform places into magical environments full of personality and wonderful vibes. Bohemian and rustic decorations are our favorites.

I’m planning a destination wedding in Portugal, but I live in another country, can you help me?

Yes, we can! In fact, about most of my clients do not live in Portugal – they live all over the world. So we are very comfortable with out-of-country clients and communicating via phone, e-mail, facetime, and Skype.

Do you charge for an initial Wedding consultation?

No, my initial consultation is complimentary.. It is a chance for us to get to know each other to see if we’re a good fit to work together.

Why hire me?

Statistics show that the average wedding takes approximately 250 hours to plan (that is equivalent to over 6 full work weeks!). A wedding planner can save you time spent researching and planning. I can also help you prioritize your vendors, get your budget in order, provide qualified vendor referrals, accompany you to vendor meetings and know what questions to ask, review vendor contracts, negotiate on your behalf. I, Cátia Silva, have a particular wedding concept that is unique. I focus on destination weddings as an experience and not just a day by itself. With me, you can can have the most extraordinary ideas and I will turn it into reality!

What makes you qualified to be Professional Wedding Planner?

For starters, I have nearly 5 years combined experience planning events, with about 2 combined years planning weddings. I started Bad Bad Maria company 5 years ago in Macau and 2 years ago I moved to Portugal and set this new company. I’ve planned more than 130 events. I have a degree in education and recently I attended a training in England –Planning Redefining – with Katrina Oter Weddings and Louise Perry Weddings. Since Bad Bad Maria was founded in 2014, we've become the “go-to” wedding planner for various media (TV, magazines, radio) because of our extensive knowledge and expertise in alternative weddings.

How do you determine which vendors to recommend to each of your clients?

I tailor all vendor referrals to fit the specific client based on their style, personality, and budget. After meeting

with you and getting to know more about you and your wedding, we send you vendor referrals that are selected

especially for you!

Will I lose control of my own wedding after hiring a Wedding Planner?

Definitely not! Your wedding is your event, not mine. I’m here to help and guide you through the planning process, not to take over. I will give you as much or as little help and advises as you want.

I am already working with a Catering Manager at my venue, and he/she is very helpful. Why do I need your help?

Typically, Catering Managers at hotels or venues have the job of overseeing the wedding details that are directly related to the venue (and sometimes the food and beverage as well). It is not in their job description to confirm your vendors, run your rehearsal, oversee the vendors on your wedding day, cue you down the aisle at your ceremony, and make sure all of the day’s events are running according to schedule. As a professional Wedding planner, my services supplement the services offered by your Catering Manager, Banquet Manager & Staff, and other vendors.

Do you accept commissions from any vendors?

No, I do not accept commission from my vendors; the service payments are made directly to each vendor and maybe you will need to sign some contracts with them.

How much communication will we have?

I have a strict company policy to reply to all emails and phone messages in a timely manner. I'll respond within 48 business hours.

Will you be present on my wedding day?

For Sure! Absolutely. As a wedding planner I will personally attend your event along with at least one assistant.

How many assistants will attent on my wedding day?

One wedding planner and at least one assistant will be at your wedding. I will have more assistants should you have multiple locations, or a large guest count.
